I See You

Dear you,

I see you. I see you, working that entry-level job, wondering if you’ll ever get to where you want to be. And you, staying home with your kids, trying to figure out if you made the right decision to take a different path. And you, drowning in a full-time job that spills into every angle of your life, leaving no room for your other passions.

I see you, trying to find a way to balance your obligations with your dreams, wondering if you’ll ever find the right middle ground. And you, fighting for a future that seems so distant, so out of reach. And you, wishing you could improve your life for yourself, your family. You have dreams. You have goals.

You can achieve greatness, but it doesn’t have to be today.

Dear You: Raise your voice. Or don’t.

I’ll be honest: motivational/inspirational quotes make my eyes roll back so far I can practically see my brain. But I do appreciate authentic encouragement. And in this world, in this current atmosphere, there’s a lot of negativity and frustration. If you’re craving a moment of honest encouragement, this is to you, from me.

Dear You,

Holy potatoes, there’s a lot of yelling these days, isn’t there? People are angry—some understandably frustrated, some just filled with hate. They’re yelling at people for what they do and what they don’t do, for speaking up and for staying silent. And in the midst of all that noise and chaos, it can be difficult to figure out your place in a world of a thousand loud opinions, all of them drowning out your own thoughts. (more…)

dear you

Hi, you. Yes. You. You’re fantastic, you know that? You’re pushing toward your goals, balancing work with life and friends. It’s exhausting, I know.

It’s easy to lose sight of things, to feel like you’re drowning in tasks and a never-ending to-do list and a pile of laundry that grows exponentially by the minute. But you’re more than those details that beg your attention. You’ve got ideas about things, dreams for the future. There’s no one on this earth quite like you. Your life — it means something to this world. You may not know exactly what it means yet, but it has its own special significance.

(Plus, you read my blog which makes you a thousand times cooler than those oblivious people out there. ;))

So here’s to you—to your dreams, to your life. Here’s to your unique place in this world that desperately needs you. Get out there and do incredible things. And know that I’m cheering you on.
