the times, they are a changin’
Do you ever stop to think about where you were a year ago? I do. Quite a lot. Because my life seems to change rather quickly.
A year ago, I was just starting a summer internship. I would roll out of bed at 5:42 am, put on a suit and heels, and drive an hour in DC traffic. I was halfway through my masters program. I was working on a novel, although I didn’t tell many people about it. I didn’t know if I could write any fiction worth reading.
Now, I’ve written two novels. I am the proud owner of a master’s degree, and I made some good friends at my summer internship. I just applied for a part-time HR position. My husband and I are looking for a house. And I have finally come to think of myself as a writer. In fact, the other day someone asked me what I did. I said “I’m a writer.” It felt good. Freeing.
There’s quite a contrast between this year and last. It’s incredible how life can change. It’s been both good and bad.
I can’t help but wonder how my life will be a year from now.
What about you? How has your life changed over the past year?

My family and I moved 3 times in a span of 7 months, 3 hours away from my hometown.
I lost a best-friend and am now we are slowly getting back to being friend.
I met some new people.
I began to get closer to God.
I will be publishing a novel this year! 😀 (So excited!)
I have memorized the first book of James.
I learned that I have to trust God in all aspects of my life.
