between these two worlds

Isn’t it funny how life can keep us from living? We get so wrapped up in everyday life we forget to really live.

Or maybe we don’t actually forget, but simply find time is the harsh judge who forces us to choose one or the other. And so, like obedient little bees, we work. We do what we must, what the rest of society demands of us. We hover around the flowers, collect pollen, but never take the time to enjoy those flowers; we are utterly blind to their beauty. (more…)

categories & labels

Recently, I decided to completely reorganize our DVDs. Our move last year gave me the perfect excuse. Instead of the boring, typical, alphabetical system I had used previously, as I unpacked our movies, I divided them by genres. We’ve got action, adventure, fantasy, inspirational drama, literary drama, etc. (And now my husband can’t find anything, since I made up some genres. But it makes sense to me.)

Categories simplify. They make life easier. And anything can be divided into categories, even people. (more…)

a foray into photo-poetry

Creation’s Benediction

May the rising waters
Erase the years,
And drown your fears,
And dry your tears.

May the dancing waves
Grant you peace.
May you find release
And laugh with ease.

May the sunlight shine
And warm your skin,
And sink right in,
And glow within.

May the tranquil trees
Guard your solace,
Provide a calm space,
And a still embrace.

Come. Arise.
Throw off restraints.
Dance with the waves.

And thank the One
who by His hand
has made the sun,
and filled the sea,
and formed the land.
